Package 'cconvention'

Title: CCAMLR Convention
Description: Provides topologically sound spatial structures for the CCAMLR convention. The Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources describes a system of spatial regions in precise terms. This package provides means of capturing that information and providing spatial map structures with it.

Add vertices to a linear path to ensure curvature

Description

This function takes a matrix of coordinates in longlat that define a pathy, and returns a denser matrix with more vertices based on a minimum allowed distance.

Usage

densifyMat(x, minm = 1852 * 10)

Arguments

x

matrix of coordinates, long/lat

minm

default distance in metres on a great cicle

Details

The function assumes each segment is a great circle, on the Vincenty ellipsoid distVincentyEllipsoid.

Value

matrix

Define polygon object of CCAMLR divisions.

Description

Currently only builds objects for 58.4.1, ensuring they are topologically clean and with sufficient density for fishing impact analysis.

Usage

division(name = "58.4.1", intsct = NULL)

Arguments

name

for future use, currently ignored

intsct

optional poylgon object to use for cropping via intersection

Value

SpatialPolygonsDataFrame

Examples

## Not run:
#cm <- readOGR(file.path(dp, "data", "add_ver6"), "cst01_polygon")
#cmu <- gUnionCascaded(cm)
library(aceecostats)
subarea <- division(intsct = aes_region)

## End(Not run)
